Greg Abbott to appoint someone else as Texas’ top lawyer in the interim. The vote constitutes an abrupt downfall for one of the GOP’s most prominent legal combatants, who in 2020 asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn President Joe Biden’s electoral defeat of Donald Trump. It makes Paxton only the third sitting official in Texas’ nearly 200-year history to have been impeached.Paxton, 60, has decried what he called “political theater” based on “hearsay and gossip, parroting long-disproven claims,” and said it’s an attempt...

Yes, roster reinforcements will be coming in the near days and weeks, manager Rocco Baldelli acknowledged Friday night after a sleepy loss. But no, that’s not his focus. His focus was on the group of players who were active and healthy and what they would do to help the Twins win Saturday’s game. And Saturday, a group of hitters, who were given a chance as a result of some of the Twins’ recent injuries, did just that, spurring the team to a 9-7 win on Saturday afternoon at Target Field.Willi Castro, who has seen his role increase over the past few weeks, had three hits, including a pair of home runs. Forest Lake’s Matt Wallner, up with Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach on the injured list, went 4 for 4 with an outfield assist, socking his first home run of the season.
